Intro profile video: What to say…
Your introductory profile video is a tool to showcase your professionalism and personality to us and parents looking for online classes. The profile video should be used to convey your experience, your online teaching style, and your philosophy around teaching your subjects. How long you’ve worked with kids, the subjects you’ve taught, approx. number and ages of learners you’ve taught online or offline etc.
- Introduce yourself with your first name only ( Eg Miss Ilham / Pretha Ma’am)
- Briefly go over your professional background. Mention any experience or education that will help build your credibility as a teacher.
- State the topics or specific classes you are teaching, explaining your views around the importance of the topic in skill building for young learners and the outcome expected by the learners.
- Describe your teaching style or philosophy around teaching.
- Be personable and connect with parents and their learners. Share a fun fact about yourself or what you’re interested in.
A good profile video helps to convey an immense amount of confidence in you and avoids unnecessary trials.
Other tips
- Create a short script and read it aloud before recording. This will help you sound more natural on camera.
- You don’t have to get it right on the first take. Give yourself a few chances to feel comfortable. Watch your video to check how it looks and sounds before you submit it.
- If you want to edit your video to add photos, music, or anything else, you are welcome to do so; however, it is not required.
Conditions
- Promoting your own social media pages or sharing your full name, personal contact details, etc is not permitted.
- You may mention Classbuk.com ( eg “Find me on Classbuk.com which is a platform where passionate teachers make learning fun “or “Join me at Classbuk.com to inspire your child to love learning etc”)
- Please try to keep the video uploads up to 100MB.
- Teachers can submit more than one video/reel for review.
- Classbuk will be helping with the final editing of the video. There are no charges for such promotions by Classbuk. In case you are keen to submit multiple activity reels, please contact your Classbuk teacher support group
