Professional Storyteller and Puppeteer.
About Me
I was a graphic artist by profession. I later found my passion in storytelling amongst my ideal audience, children. I am a certified Puppeteer from Kalsootri, and a Storyteller trained by Small Tales. I have also been trained in Phonics by TESOL and have earned a diploma in Early Childhood Care ( Class topper) and Education. I have been teaching pre-primary and primary classes for over 12 years * and have been a content developer for lesson plans and syllabuses. Currently, I am pursuing my Masters in Education and serving as a Guest Faculty in Bombay Teachers Training College for training Early education teachers.
In my own unique style, I narrate stories using guitar, ukulele, djembe, and numerous other musical instruments. I am passionate about creating my own puppets and muppets, which I use extensively in my storytelling sessions. I love to narrate the tales of Ramayana, using traditional shadow puppets made from leather.
I conduct storytelling sessions with related activities, and puppet-making workshops, in schools, clubs, NGOs. I also conduct customized teacher-training workshops for pre-primary and primary teachers on phonics, writing lesson plans, puppetry, teaching through storytelling & voice training.
