Enrollment Message to Parents

Upcoming classes with Classbuk are updated on your Google Calendar with applicable Zoom links. Classbuk creates class Zoom meeting links including scheduling on your Google calendar. We use paid licenses that do not have a 40 mins limit so that you can take the classes smoothly. Please click for your Google calendar view.  Watch this video for instructions to join.  Please ensure to check your Google calendar invites from Classbuk and advise if any changes are needed. Track and join each class a few minutes in advance.  Google Calendar events are scheduled for additional days beyond paid sessions as a buffer.

In case you wish to add any email id to the Google calendar invite, please instruct us to do so. Students can log in to Google Calendar via their own email id and join the Zoom link by clicking the link in the class invite directly via their own Google Calendar account https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r So parents need not share the class link every time 🙂 Classbuk may / may not make calls to parents for reminders to join the class as invites via Google calendars OR messages are sent already.

Keep the Zoom account logged into the student’s device with the student’s first name with screen share permission enabled. Note: On macOS 10.15 Catalina, you need to allow Zoom access to screen recording to share your screen. You can do this in your System Preferences. Select the Security & Privacy option, click the Privacy tab, scroll down to Screen Recording, and finally check the option for zoom.us.

Students may be using their laptop cameras to show their physical classwork to teachers during online classes if they are not using Zoom-integrated whiteboard.
We recommend setting up an additional device using a mobile stand to focus on the notepad on which your child may be physically writing enabling online teachers to see and guide students in real-time when he/she is writing.

Set up the second device with its audio disconnected/muted to eliminate echo sound.

CANCELLATIONS/ RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES:
Any rescheduling and class cancellation requests should be kept to a minimum unless for emergency reasons. Rescheduling and class cancellation lead to an inconsistent learning experience and break in routine for students, loss of earnings for teachers and adds a lot of effort to reschedule classes. Cancellations/Rescheduling also encourage teachers to raise similar requests in the future.

More than 1 emergency class cancellation/ rescheduling ( i.e. less than 24 hours) or more than 2 class cancellations/rescheduling ( > 24 hrs notice) in a month will reduce class credit balance of 0.25 class per day of rescheduling/ cancellation. There is no limit to the count of rescheduling of classes where a doctor or hospital visit is required upon submission of a doctor’s prescription. Please note teachers are also subjected to penalties in case of cancellations/rescheduling beyond their permitted limit.  Classes can be paused ( due to vacations etc ) for a total period of 2 months in a year 

HOLD amounts are Refundable amounts and will be refunded subject to request from the parent concerned after successful non-repeat of the specific issues in the next 2 months. So if a hold has been applied in Jan 2024, there should not be any repeat of the same case in Feb and Mar 2024.

Rescheduled / Makeup classes should be taken within the same week. If make-up classes are not feasible within the same week, they should be taken within the same month. If make up class is not feasible within the same month also, the class credits will be carried forward.

 GOOGLE CLASSROOM:  We use Google Classroom to exchange assignments and messages between teachers and students directly for certain ongoing classes. It also helps in tracking timelines of assignments and submissions and all assignments are centralized during the entire course duration. Parents and teachers can access Google Classroom using the email id and password created by Classbuk . The email id and password will be shared separately with you. Logging into the Google Classroom using the email id and password for the first time may require OTP, so please feel free to call us if needed if you face such issues Downloading the Google Classroom app on the phone also helps in the easy submission of assignments directly from the mobile. Exchange of personal information ( full name, email id or phone) or fees, etc directly or indirectly between teacher and parent is not permitted.  Please do not change the password assigned to you.

Teachers are expected to submit assignments immediately after the completion of respective classes to give sufficient time for learners to complete the homework. Similarly, learners should complete the assignments timely to give sufficient time to teachers to check and submit their comments. The Google Classroom will be archived after the end of the course and it may be assigned to another student. Hence it is advisable to download the assignments on an ongoing basis.
